Cool, you've started the action at breakneck speed. I am thinking we are in some sepia not-to distant future, not quite Steam-punk, but far from squeaky perfect like The Culture. I look forward to being enlightened and entertained in one big weekly parcel.
Glad you like it so far! I like steampunk, but I've a feeling it might veer into slightly noir territory as well.

I wonder, did the cadet find this "Paul Stubbs" and get the location of the hide-out from him? Was it "Paul Stubbs" wearing a cadet uniform? Perhaps "Paul Stubbs" is a fictitious person and Weimar is manufacturing ID Cards to place spies in the resistance?
Enough wondering, I'll just read chapter three and find out!
