Tram sounds a bit treacherous. I'd avoid it, but it seems it's the only way about.
Liss makes me think of the character Vin from Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn Trilogy (Epic Fantasy). I'm fond of Liss and am looking forward to seeing her develop as the story goes on.
I do have a very big soft spot for Liss.
